Event Description
Crossing Bridges is an educational 4-week program for people who have mild memory loss or the early stages of Alzheimer's disease or dementia, and a primary care partner. In this program, participants will learn coping skills, ways to enhance family communication, and have some guidance toward developing plans for the future. This is NOT a support group. Space is very limited and this will be the last session of 2024.
Requirements to participate:
- A pairing of two individuals: Someone living with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or early-stage dementia (a formal diagnosis is not required to attend this program) and their care partner.
- A commitment by both individuals to participate in all four sessions together.
- Sharing experiences is a vital part of this program. This is how we learn and grow. Both individuals must be willing to share their experience with the group.
- A willingness to complete homework assignments between sessions.
- Participants should have a desire to learn and expand their knowledge of dementia and dementia caregiving. Both participants need to have insight of dementia symptoms.
What to know/bring: All materials will be provided during the sessions.
