WISCONSIN EMPLOYMENT FIRST | VIRTUAL CONFERENCE
TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2021 | 9 AM - 3:30 PM
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Service providers, direct service professionals, funders, people with disabilities, families, and others who support people with disabilities to achieve employment, make connections and contribute to the community.

This year’s virtual Employment First Conference is following a new format that promises to be exciting and interactive!

HIGHLIGHT: There will be a specific session dedicated to educators called: It’s My Choice: Embedding Dignity of Risk into the Transition Planning Process with community educator and self-advocate Christopher Worth and Jennifer Bumble from the University of Missouri St. Louis. This session explores the concept of ‘Dignity of Risk’ within the context of person-centered transition planning. The presenters will discuss how to respect student choice through informed risk-taking and why this is important in preparing young people for independence and self-determination. Presenters will highlight practical strategies for success and first-person stories rooted in the lived experience of disability. Attendees will also learn steps to facilitating discussions about dignity of risk with students, families, and other professionals, as well as practical strategies for embedding dignity of risk into the transition process. You don’t want to miss it!

There will be a session dedicated to people with disabilities and one for family members as well. In addition, there will be many sessions for anyone working to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

$25 for professionals and FREE for people with disabilities and family members.
